Swiss duo QZB make their second solo outing of the year for Critical with the ‘Kilowatt’ EP – packing four high-voltage drum & bass stunners, primed to electrify any dancefloor.
‘Antidote’ opens in cinematic style, layering lush soundscapes and drifting vocals over a moody filtered bassline; cross-wired with manic, razor sharp breakbeats.
Title track ‘Kilowatt’ is a simpler, but no less powerful groove, aimed straight at the rave, pushing things hard, deep and deliciously minimal.
‘Waste Your Time’ sees QZB link again with vocalist Sydney Bryce, whose vocals stretch and scatter across flicking snares and filtered, twisted bass; while ‘Cut Off The Top’ rolls out a dark jump-up rhythm kept moving by smart sound design and the bars of MC Freddy B.
