Prior to her selection into the EQ50 mentoring scheme in 2020 which aims to address gender inequality in drum & bass, Spectral was relatively new to the world of music production, but demonstrated her potential with a couple of free downloads on her Soundcloud. The mentorship programme lead her to Critical, where Kasra introduced the idea of starting work on her first EP. With his guidance and her determination, Spectral showcased the art of patience and hard work, ensuring results nothing short of perfect.
On the lead up to her debut release, Spectral has steadily built up her reputation and discovered her sound through a series of stand-out performances amongst the Critical Sound family and beyond. Her style is characterised by intricate rhythms and deep basslines, which have garnered attention from both fans and industry insiders alike.
To date she has played across some of the UK’s most iconic venues and festivals such as Fabric, Printworks and Glastonbury, as well as expanding internationally with performances in Albania, Amsterdam, Berlin, Croatia and Switzerland amongst others.
She has delivered memorable livestreams and mixes for Shogun Audio, Hospital Records and Deep Tempo, and began a radio residency with Kool Fm mid 2023. After signing to Primary Talent late 2022, she now DJs as a resident for The One Forty Club (Bristol).
All of this combined only made the announcement of her highly anticipated ‘Binary Vol.27‘ EP even more exciting, and has further solidified her position as one of the most promising newcomers in the scene.
It is clear that with her unique sound and growing recognition, Spectral is poised to make a significant impact on the scene for years to come.
