Critical Music moves into autumn with new sounds from label founder Kasra, alongside regular sonic co-conspirator Enei.
Following his collaborative, vocal-laden ‘Dream Metal’ project from earlier in 2024, both tracks see Kasra stripping things back to the raw essentials for two powerful, highly polished pieces of cutting-edge electronic music.
The Londoner goes fully solo on ‘tunnels’ with a skilfully balanced slice of dark yet soulful D&B, replete with complex moods and subtle sound design; all held together by a driving, relentless stepping rhythm.
‘waveFronts’, alongside Enei, comes differently; with raw, rhythmic drums, collapsing basslines, off-kilter stabbing chords and all sorts of samples taking things back to the late-90s nicely.
