‘Out & In’ shows Calyx’s (relatively) softer side, smoothing out his typically high-tech sound into a spacious, easy-going groove blessed by Chimpo’s deadpan bars in just the right places.
‘My Dark Place’ is Calyx at his most unique and impressive; sublime, cinematic soundscapes subsiding into full-throttle, face twisting sonics that only a true master of his art could craft.
